The purpose of this page is to help facilitate the researcher's work by providing a one stop place that contains links to the most valuable (in my opinion) search engines, subject directories and electronic sources of information. Where ever possible, I have provided annotations and scope notes detailing the merits and slant of these links.
I hope to up date these as time permits and depending on your collaboration, may do this as often as once a week. Please send all comments to me at the following address:

Possibly the most used term, and the least precisely used, in the library and information world.
"Best seen as holding the place in the spectrum between raw data and knowledge. Seen in this way, information is an assemblage of data in a comprehensible form capable of communication and use: facts to which a meaning has been attached."
Feather, J. (ed) (1997) International encyclopedia of information and library science. London: Routledge
Information can be defined as any set of meaningful data that is useful to a person or organization or to complete a process. A good way of understanding what information is, is through recognizing the relative value of information to society at large. There are ethical, legal, social, cultural and political issues surrounding information.
Information literacy
Knowledge is information evaluated and organized in the human mind so that it can be used purposefully.
